What we sell
SHOP TSN sells packaged solar equipment on a supply-only basis. Each package includes the major equipment (inverter, battery, solar panels and mounting structure). The balance of system (wiring, distribution boards and protection) and installation are not included and are quoted separately.
Prices
All prices are shown in South African Rand and include VAT at 15%. Prices may change without notice. The price shown at checkout is the price that applies to your order, subject to the Pricing errors clause below.
Delivery is charged separately and is calculated at checkout from the weight and dimensions of your order. For oversize or heavy consignments we quote delivery separately before dispatch.
Pricing errors
We list several hundred products, and our prices are drawn from supplier quotations. Occasionally a price is published in error, for example where a supplier cost has changed or a specification was captured incorrectly. Where such an error is obvious, and a reasonable person would not have expected the price to be correct, we may decline or cancel the order. If we do, we will tell you promptly and refund you in full within 7 business days. We will never charge you more than the price you were shown without your written agreement.
Orders and payment
Your order is an offer to buy. We accept that offer, and a binding sale is concluded, only once we have confirmed the order in writing and the funds have cleared in our bank account. Until then we may decline the order for any lawful reason, including a pricing error, a stock or lead time problem, or a failed fraud check.
Payment is by electronic funds transfer into the TSN Kunye account shown on your order confirmation. Please use your order number as the payment reference.
Proof of payment is not payment. We place orders with our suppliers, and release goods, only once funds have cleared in our account. For first-time customers, and for any order above R20 000, we will always wait for cleared funds before dispatch.
Ownership and risk
Goods remain our property until paid for in full. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.
Installation and compliance
Installation is not included. Installation must be carried out by a registered electrician. Obtaining a Certificate of Compliance (CoC) and any Small-Scale Embedded Generation (SSEG) approval from your municipality is the customer’s responsibility. You can request an installation quote from us on any product page.
The equipment must be installed, connected and commissioned by a registered electrician in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and the applicable South African standards, including SANS 10142 and, where you connect to the grid, NRS 097. To the extent permitted by law, and except where the loss is caused by our own breach or by unsafe goods for which we are liable under the Consumer Protection Act, you indemnify us against any claim, loss or damage arising from the installation, use, modification or onward sale of the goods by you or any third party. If you make the goods available to another person, you must pass on the manufacturer’s manual and safety information.
Warranties
Products carry the manufacturer’s warranty, which we pass through to you and register in your name. Because we supply rather than manufacture the equipment, the manufacturer or its local distributor holds the warranty; we act as your single point of contact and manage the claim on your behalf. Warranty periods, terms and exclusions are set by the manufacturer and are stated on each product’s datasheet. Full details of how claims work, what is required and what is excluded are set out in our Returns, Refunds and Warranty policy. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, our total liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the price you paid for the goods concerned. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of income, downtime, or damage caused by incorrect installation, use or maintenance by you or a third party. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it may not lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by unsafe goods under the Consumer Protection Act.
Force majeure
We are not in breach of these terms, and are not liable for any delay or failure to perform, caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including load-shedding, supplier or courier delays, import or customs delays, strikes, natural events or acts of state. Where such an event materially affects your order we will contact you, and if we cannot deliver within a reasonable time you may cancel and receive a full refund of amounts paid.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you place your order is the version that applies to that order.
Your capacity to contract
By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement.
Complaints and dispute resolution
If you have a complaint, please contact us first at info@tsnkunye.co.za so we can resolve it. If we cannot reach a resolution, you may refer the matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) at www.cgso.org.za, at no cost to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and you consent to the jurisdiction of the South African courts. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply.
