Huawei SUN2000-20KTL-M5 20kW Three Phase String Inverter

A 20kW three-phase grid-tie string inverter from Huawei’s M5 range, sized for a small commercial rooftop or a large property offsetting daytime load. This is a grid-tie inverter, not a hybrid: it does not run a battery and gives no backup during an outage.

What this model does

• 20kW rated AC output (22,000VA apparent), 31.9A maximum output current at 400V, on 380/400/415V three phase.
• Takes up to 30kWp of panels as standard, and up to 40kWp with SUN2000-450W-P optimizers, which is a 200% DC/AC ratio and unusually generous for a 20kW unit.
• 2 MPP trackers across 4 inputs, 30A per tracker on two strings. Full-load MPPT range 480 to 800V, operating range 200 to 1,000V, maximum PV input 1,100V.
• 98.4% peak efficiency, 98.1% European weighted.
• AI-powered arc fault protection, plus Type II DC and Class II AC surge protection, string fault detection and residual current monitoring.
• Integrated PID recovery, which reverses potential-induced degradation in the modules rather than just avoiding it.
• Optimizer ready for shaded or multi-pitch roofs, with up to 30% more energy claimed by Huawei when fitted.
• 21kg and 546 x 460 x 228mm, IP66, smart air cooling. Monitoring via FusionSolar over built-in WLAN, with optional Ethernet or 4G.
