Sungrow SH20T 20kW Three Phase Hybrid Inverter

A 20kW three-phase hybrid inverter from Sungrow’s SH-T range, built for commercial premises or a large property with heavy daytime demand.

What this model does

• 20kW rated AC output (20000VA apparent), 30.4A max output current, on 380/400V three phase at 50Hz.
• Takes up to 40kWp of panels, Sungrow’s recommended maximum, which is a 200% DC/AC ratio. You can fit double the panel capacity of the inverter rating and still harvest through winter and cloud.
• 3 independent MPP trackers across 5 strings, so the array can be split over roof faces that catch sun at different times. MPPT range 150 to 950V, maximum PV input 1,000V, 16A per string.
• Built-in 63A bypass for whole-home backup, not just an essentials circuit, with a seamless switch in under 10ms.
• 32,000VA peak output for 10 seconds in backup mode, which is what starts a borehole pump or compressor.
• 100% unbalanced output supported on grid and in backup, so one heavy phase does not force you to size up the whole system.
• 50A fast charge and discharge on a 100 to 700V lithium battery. Works with the Sungrow SBH and SBR ranges.
• 98.2% peak efficiency. 40kg, fan cooling, 50dB(A).
• MC4 compatible PV connectors (max 6mm²), so it lands straight onto standard South African array wiring.
• IP65 with C5 corrosion rating, AFCI 2.0 arc-fault detection with a 200ms shutdown, and NRS 097 compliance for SSEG applications.
